Pastor Gerald A. Tucker is the Founder and Pastor of New Beginning Baptist Church of Columbia, which was established on July 20, 2008. New Beginning Baptist was originally located at 6420-M Garners Ferry Road, in the Cedar Terrace Shopping Center. As of September 2009, God blessed the New Beginning Baptist Church family and it rest on over 8 Acres of land that is located at 9601 Caughman Road, Columbia, SC 29209.

Pastor. Tucker was born in Baltimore ,Maryland to the Mr. Joseph Robinson and Ms. Catherine Gholson and a Step Mother Willie Mae Robinson. Pastor Tucker has been married for 38 years to the lovely Julia Riley Tucker. God blessed this union with two beautiful daughters, Betina Tucker, Ashley Tucker Lloyd and a handsome son-in-law Syrone Lloyd, four precious little grand daughter’s My’Siyah Mi’Angel and Sy’Miyah Khai’Lea Tucker and Syleea’ Julianna and Alissiea Lloyd, two good-looking grandsons Kedric Lloyd, Syrone Bartell Lloyd, Jr.

He is a graduate of the Eau Claire High School. He received a Degree of Associate in Business in Banking and Finance in 1979. He held a Certificate of Deacon at the Ridgewood Baptist Church in 1996, until God called him into the Ministry. A Certificate of Ordination November 14, 1999, to preach the Gospel. A Certificate of Children Ministries Institute, to teach children effectively February 13, 2001.
Ministerial Certificate, Morris College April 25, 2001. Pastor Tucker was the Youth Pastor of the Greater St. Luke Baptist Church, for four years. Pastor Tucker was the Pastor of the Zion Benevolent Baptist Church in Hopkins S.C. for 4 years. He is employed with SCANA (SCE&G)/Dominion Energy SC and has been there for 40 years. He serves on the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Association as a Member of the Executive Board. 2014 Martin Luther King Humanitarian Award
God Keeps on Blessing New Beginning under Pastor Tucker's leadership. Pastor Tucker has formed several outreach ministries for the church and the community.
